Ironbriar's Journal

In a room with 30 faces, skinned and mounted to plaques, you found a journal and ledgerbook, probably from Ironbriar.  It's written in code, using Elvish, Draconic, and Infernal alphabets, and Kendra has a deuce of a time translating.  But she's getting some stuff from it:


  • Ironbriar's been a worshiper of Norgorber for a long while - at the start, in His aspect of secrets and espionage, but a few years ago he started hearing Norgorber speak to him as The Skinsaw Man - the aspect of Norgorber most extreme, the God of ritual murders and serial killers.
  • It seems like also, over the last several years, Ironbriar plotted against and murdered the other Six that made up the Brotherhood of the Seven.
  • Several months ago he met with - and was seduced by - Xanesha, who taught him the Sihedron ritual.
  • Ironbriar's visited "Lovely Xanesha" at a site in the Underbridge called "The Shadow Clock".
  • Ironbriar received 1200 gp from the Red Mantis (?) for delivery of "One (1) Foxglove Plague Rat."
  • There's enough evidence in here to sentence Ironbriar to the gallows, if you had not already sent him down that Dark Alleyway from which No One Emerges.

Introduction to the World and Character Creation

New Campaign Notes We’ll play Pathfinder, for the rule set.   Here are the rules: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/ We’ll do stats and all the first session.   Maybe think about who you’ll want to be and what they’re like, and some ideas for a character class and concept.   Make a character that’s generally good, or at least helpful, and that will get along well in a party of adventurers. I’m fine with many ways of generating stats.   Pick the ones you want?   25 build points?   4d6 drop the lowest, 7 times drop the lowest?   3d6 in order but reroll any ones?   You’ve played enough to figure this out. Citadel Drezen part two, the caverns beneath Drezen

The seven adventurers: Antwon the Cavalier, Kand the Wizard, Torvan the rogue, and Vig the Ninja/Paladin, with their friend Kendra, and new friends Jestak the Barbarian and Joran the Wizard, descend into the tunnels carved underneath the Citadel Drezen.  Joran explains that while the stairs had been dug out and plans found for caverns and mines, the crusaders never got around to completing the lower levels of the Citadel, but the demons with their cheap labor were able to carve an intricate series of chambers, used for nefarious purposes. One of those nefarious purposes was the imprisonment and torture of various Crusaders; the stairs lead down into such chambers.  In the basement an oppressive feeling of chaos and evil suffuses and surrounds Our Heroes - it will be harder to cast spells of goodness and order here.  There is a low susurration of maddening whispers, too low to make out details but enough to distract The Heroes from their task, and to sap a certain measur...
